This is just a small slice of my life in how I became a photographer, how I’ve used it in my life, and how I'm using it currently!
Colossians 3:17
My love of looking at life through a lens came very young. I was 13 when I picked up my mom's little travel camera, went out to the woods behind our house and started taking pictures of plants and anything that captured my eye!
When I turned 15 I was given an opportunity to go to Alaska! A family friend had seen some of the photos I had taken and decided to lend me her Nikon 3300 for the trip. Once I got home, I saved up my money to buy my own Nikon, and that was what started it all.
Ages 16 to 19 were filled with photographing my first senior photos, weddings, family photos, and working at different camps during those summers as a photographer/filmmaker. I gained so much experience during those years, and I learned from so many people.
During that time learning everything I could, I decided to make the switch and upgrade my camera to a Canon 60D.
When I look back on the photos I've taken early on, I can't help but be thankful for the people who trusted me enough to let me learn by taking their photos!
Now after almost a decade of being a self-taught photographer, it still brings a smile to my face whenever I see people react to their photos. I'm still continuing to learn all that the photography world has to bring, but I'm so thankful for people like you who trust me enough to capture those special moments in your lives!
The future is always uncertain, but I hope and pray that I can continue to do this wonderful job by bringing smiles to people's faces and capturing beautiful moments for people to look back on and enjoy.
